An ordinary morning, an emergency nobody saw coming, and a dog waiting by the door. This is the day Woof was built for.

What happens in the film
- Morning. Alex heads out, and Biscuit, a golden retriever, watches the door close.
- Out on the street, Alex has an emergency and is taken away by ambulance.
- The afternoon passes, then the evening. Biscuit waits by the door.
- At 9:00 PM Alex misses a check-in. Woof notices, and checks on Alex first: a notification, then a text. No answer.
- Woof texts Sam, the first person in Alex’s Safety Network. Sam taps “Yes, I can help” and sees where Alex lives and how to look after Biscuit.
- The door opens. Sam is there, and Biscuit isn’t alone any more.
Woof never calls emergency services itself. The story, the people and the apartment are fictional; the app screens and the text Sam receives are Woof’s own.
How Woof works
You check in. Woof checks on you. Your people step in.
Most days you tap “I’m okay” and that’s it. Here is what happens on the day you can’t.

One tap on “I’m okay”, on the schedule you set. The countdown runs on Woof’s servers, so a lost or dead phone can’t hide a missed check-in.

A notification, then a text. To you, and nobody else yet. One tap says you’re fine and it’s over.
Woof, to you Woof: you haven’t checked in. Reply YES to confirm you’re okay, or open Woof. If we don’t hear from you, we’ll contact your Safety Network.

Your Safety Network gets a text
The people you chose, one at a time, in your order. They agreed in advance and they don’t need the app. Up to three people with Woof, up to six with Super Woof.

Someone can help
Whoever says yes has what they need
A private page with where you live and how to look after your pets: feeding, allergies, medication and your vet. How to get in shows only if you turned that on. Anyone can say “Sorry, I can’t right now”, and Woof asks the next person.
Almost every day, nothing happens. You tap once, nobody is contacted, and your day carries on.
Woof’s software never calls 911, never dispatches emergency services and never requests a welfare check on its own. With Super Woof you can turn on Full Support: if nobody in your Safety Network could resolve it, a person at Woof reviews the case and decides what is appropriate.

Where Woof stands
Woof never calls 911 itself. Its software never dispatches emergency services or requests a welfare check. It checks on you, then tells the people you trust, and it never promises anyone will come.
No location trail. Free Woof never needs your location. If you share it, Woof knows only whether you are home or away, never where you went.
Nothing sold. No ads, no advertising identifier, no third-party analytics, no data brokers. Your number and your texting consent are never shared for marketing.
Your people choose to help. Every Safety Contact accepts in advance, and anyone can say “I can’t right now” so Woof simply asks the next person.

Independent advice
The ASPCA advises pet owners to choose in advance who would care for their animals, keep emergency contacts where somebody can find them, and write down medications and veterinary details. “A neighbor or friend could step in to check on your pets if you are hospitalized.”

- Is Woof really free?
- Yes. The Dead Man’s Switch, your Safety Network, the contact ladder, the complete Woof Pet Record with your documents, sharing and Lost Pet Mode are free for your pet, with no trial and nothing that expires. Super Woof is an optional subscription that adds more on top, including room for your whole pack.
- Is there a free trial of Super Woof?
- Where available, yes: 3 days. It isn’t offered in Australia. Eligibility is decided by the App Store or Google Play, not by Woof, and it is generally for people who have not subscribed before. The app shows you the trial only when the store confirms you qualify, and tells you the price and the date before you start.
- How many pets can I protect with Woof?
- Free Woof protects one pet, completely: the full Woof Pet Record, Lost Pet Mode, sharing and every safety feature. Super Woof lets you protect and manage up to 10. Members who joined Woof before this policy keep multi-pet access, whether or not they subscribe.
- What happens if I don’t respond to a check-in?
- Woof checks on you first: a notification, then a text. If you still can’t answer, it contacts the people in your Safety Network one at a time, in the order you chose, and shows whoever says yes how to care for your pet. One tap from you ends it at any point.
- Where is Woof available?
- In the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and Germany. You sign up with a mobile number from one of those countries, and the people in your Safety Network can have a number from any of them.
- Does Woof automatically call the police or 911?
- No. Woof’s software never calls 911, never dispatches emergency services and never requests a welfare check on its own. With Super Woof you can turn on Full Support, and if nobody in your Safety Network could resolve it, a person at Woof reviews the situation and decides what is appropriate, which can include contacting an appropriate authority or requesting a wellness check if warranted. Nobody promises a response time or an outcome.
