Caregiver Pass arrives with Woof 2.1, which is with Apple for review. Woof today already shares a Woof Pet Record with a sitter on a link that expires; the Pass adds the checklist, the check-ins and per-section control.

How it works

Section by section. A section you leave out is never loaded at all, rather than loaded and hidden.

It opens in any browser. You can extend it, or revoke it, at any time from Woof.

Ten sections, and you pick them

A pass is a window onto your Woof Pet Record, not a copy of it. Correct the feeding note at 6pm and your sitter sees the correction at 6pm — and when you revoke a pass, there is no copy anywhere to chase.

How to get into your home. Access instructions and door codes reach no section. Tell a person that directly.

A caregiver is not a Safety Contact and not a household member. They cannot edit your Pet Record and cannot touch anything to do with your own safety.

Pet Sitter Check-In

Your sitter can check in from the same page — a line about how it went, and a picture if they want to send one. You see them in Woof.

Marked, not verified

Woof records what a person said they did. A task reads “Marked done by Katie” — never “administered”, never “Woof confirmed”. Woof did not watch anybody give a tablet and does not pretend otherwise.

A correction is kept

If your sitter ticks something and then un-ticks it because they were wrong, both facts survive and Woof shows you that it changed. On a medication line, the second one is often the one that matters.

Photos from a visit are stripped of their hidden location data before Woof stores them. A sitter photographs your dog inside your house, and that file’s coordinates are your address.

Revoking means revoked

A pass that you revoke — or that has expired, or that has not started yet — is refused before a single detail about your pet is read. It does not go read-only and it does not keep the medical pages legible. If a sitter still needs it mid-visit, you extend it, and that is your decision to make.

Creating a pass is a Super Woof feature. Reading one and revoking one never are — locking somebody out of their own revoke button is not something to charge for.

The work you do for one weekend covers the day you can’t get home
