These are the terms you agree to by using Woof. We have kept them short and readable, because terms nobody can read protect nobody.

1. The most important thing

Woof is not an emergency service.

  • Woof does not call 911, and no part of it ever will automatically.
  • Woof does not dispatch police, paramedics or a welfare check.
  • Woof is not a guaranteed rescue service, and cannot promise anybody will come.

What Woof does is try to reach you, and then try to reach the people you chose. Whether they answer, and what they do, is up to them.

If someone is in danger, call emergency services.

For Woof+ Full Support, an unresolved incident may be reviewed by a Woof operator. An operator is a person who looks at the case and decides what to do; they are not emergency responders, and Woof does not guarantee a response time.

2. What Woof depends on, and where it can fail

Woof runs on a phone, a network and other companies' services. It can fail, and you should understand how:

  • Check-ins depend on your phone receiving a notification and on you answering. A phone that is off, dead, silenced or without signal will not remind you.
  • The Away Timer and Automatic Protection depend on iOS location services, which are approximate. Boundaries can be crossed late, missed, or reported wrongly. Woof deliberately waits, and being out is never treated as something being wrong.
  • Fall Protection depends on Apple Watch fall detection, which is Apple's feature and detects some falls and not others.
  • Notifications, texts and calls depend on Apple, on your carrier and on our telephony provider.
  • Woof itself may be unavailable.

Woof is designed so that a failure is loud rather than silent — but you should not rely on Woof as the only thing standing between you and harm.

3. Your account

You need a working US telephone number. Keep access to it: it is how you sign in and how Woof reaches you. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at info@woofhelp.com if you think somebody else has access.

You must be at least 18 years old to use Woof.

4. Your Safety Network

When you add a Safety Contact you are giving us somebody else's name and telephone number. You confirm you have their permission, and that they would expect to be contacted about you.

Woof asks them first, and they choose whether to accept. They can decline or withdraw. A Safety Contact is not obliged to do anything, and is not responsible if they do not.

5. Your pets' information

The Pet Passport is a record you keep. Woof is not a veterinary service and does not give veterinary advice. Nothing in Woof is a substitute for a vet.

You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter. If you share a Pet Passport, whoever you share it with can see the categories you chose for as long as you chose.

6. Woof+ subscriptions

Woof is free. Woof+ is an optional subscription:

  • $2.99 per month, or $29.99 per year (prices shown in the app are the authoritative ones, in your local currency).
  • Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
  • It renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Manage or cancel in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. Only Apple can cancel it — Woof cannot, and deleting your Woof account does not.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under their policy. Woof cannot issue them.

If a subscription lapses, Woof+ features stop and the free product continues. Nothing you created is deleted because you stopped paying.

7. Refer & Earn

If you take part in the referral program, the Referral Program Terms apply as well. In short: rewards are earned when referred people subscribe and stay in good standing, they are cumulative totals rather than additions, and Woof reviews suspicious activity before paying anything.

8. Things you must not do

  • Create accounts for people who have not asked for one, or add contacts without permission.
  • Abuse, defraud or game the referral program.
  • Attempt to break, overload or reverse-engineer Woof.
  • Use Woof to harass, monitor or track another person. Woof is for your own safety and your own pets. Using it to keep watch over somebody else without their knowledge is a misuse of it, and we will close accounts that do.

9. Ending things

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Privacy → Delete Account.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, is being used to harm somebody, or is defrauding the referral program. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why.

10. Availability and changes

Woof is provided as it is. We may change or discontinue features. If a change materially reduces protection, we will tell you in the app.

11. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Woof Help LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for a failure of a network, a device, a notification, a third-party service or a Safety Contact to act.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and nothing here is intended to limit your rights as a consumer.

12. Governing law

The laws of the State of New York, United States, excluding its conflict-of-law rules, govern these terms and your use of Woof. Your use of Woof may also be subject to other local, state and federal laws.
