Meet the Explorer Pug
Their world, waiting to be discovered.
Woof Explore lives behind the Explorer Pug in the top corner of Home. Tap him and the map opens on the four kinds of place pet owners look for most.
Turn any of them on or off, in any mix. The map keeps what it has already found, so changing your mind never starts the search again. Try the tiles beside this.

How it works
From “where’s a groomer?” to directions
- 1
Choose what you’re looking for
Vets, groomers, pet stores and dog parks, all four on to start. Emergency vets are vets, marked so you can spot them at a glance.
- 2
Choose where, and how far
Near you, or near a town, ZIP or address you type. Within 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 miles. Move the map and “Search this area” looks there instead.
- 3
Browse the map or the list
Nearest first, with how far each place is. The list says when there may be more nearby than one search can show.
- 4
Open a place and go
Directions, call or website, side by side, whenever the place has them. For an emergency vet, Woof always says to call before you go.
Private by design
Woof never learns where you’re browsing
Your search goes straight from your phone to the map service: Apple Maps on iPhone, Google on Android. Woof’s servers never see where you’re looking, what you typed or which places you opened, and Woof Explore keeps nothing after you close it.
Woof asks for your location only when you tap “Use my location”, only while you’re using the app, and never again if you say no. Typing a town or ZIP works just as well. It’s separate from Automatic Protection, which has its own permission and its own reasons.
- Woof doesn’t recommend places. What you see is what Apple Maps or Google lists. Woof hasn’t reviewed or ranked them.
- Woof doesn’t say a vet is open. Hours come from the map service where it has them. In an emergency, call first.
- It isn’t part of your protection. Browsing Explore never starts, stops or changes a check-in or a timer.
Woof Explore is free for everyone
On iPhone and Android, with free Woof or Super Woof. While you’re there, the Woof Pet Record keeps your vet’s details with the rest of your pet’s information.
Free to download. Free core protection, with no trial and no expiry. iPhone and Android.
